City Grid as Storyteller

11/30/2014

Las Vegas Weekly's Kristen Peterson is reporting the Modern art museum "is undergoing major changes as the board refreshes its messaging, reconsiders location options and seeks a new board chair." Hype for the museum began a year ago.  If that is so, it is unfortunate Las Vegas may not see this building on Charleston and Casino Center. One level is fitted in the first city grid, anchored by downtown, and the other level is an extension grid from Highway 91, aka Las Vegas Blvd and the Strip. The transition in street planning could have been a symbol the aesthetic coming out from Las Vegas . . .  right there, on the corner of Pastiche and Bricolage.
