Over the summer UNLV will showcase exhibit recently acquired works to the Barrick Museum and Las Vegas Art Museum collections. From the release:
"Many of the artists included in Recent Acquisitions have ties to Las Vegas. As a cross section of the diverse practices pursued by contemporary artists, this exhibition reaffirms the Barrick’s commitment to collecting art of the present. The vast majority of the works will be on display for the first time since entering the Museum’s collections."
"Recent Acquisitions" opening reception is June 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. and runs through September 19.
From May to August, the Barrick's summer hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m on Mondays through Fridays: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Closed Sundays and state and federal holidays. The cost is free with a suggested voluntary $5 for adults; $2 for children and senior.
