A friendly debate with a supportive UNLV officer began when suggested the campus security may be keeping UNLV from having the same presence as Hofstra University and Washington University during the first two debates. The campus invested quite a bit to be noticed nationally. "We are on full lockdown," said the officer, then explaining there is a free speech zone. There is. It's called a Public Expression Area. and it is touted as "not far from Thomas & Mack Center." It's too far for news cameras. News outlets like to use activated public space as a backdrop during debate coverage spin cycles.
Then I saw news media, both rigged and not rigged, do want access to students on campus, despite the major restrictions. 'Major TV news networks invite students to become part of history as they document the third and final presidential debate" is the subhead in a release from the UNLV News Center.
For those just climbing out of a cave, the Final Presidential Debate is October 19 at UNLV.
Now on to some debate spoofs and street art.
