Fate and resources has delivered the words written by The Bard to Las Vegas. Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington D.C. dispatched Shakespeare’s “First Folio” on a 50 state tour and it is now in Nevada on display at UNLV’s Lied Library until September 29 under strict lighting and room temperature. From the release.
Today was opening day for the exhibition and Special Collections is also displaying evidence that Las Vegas is no stranger to seeing Shakespeare performed, or handling historic books.
While UNLV will be the site for the final presidential debate on Oct. 19, 2016, which will rival the ritual cruelty in Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, having “First Folio” at UNLV is also an important visit.
