ALL-NIGHTER: Sleepless muralists with experience and speed can begin submitting proposals for the Circus Circus Reno 24-Hour Mural Marathon beginning February 19, 2016. The last day to submit is April 19. . . Times: Marathon officials will select seven artists (or team) to paint a 19' 7” feet wide by 14' high mural. The painting window is set for 10 a.m. on July 15 and ends at 10 a.m. on July 16. "How to Enter" information from the marathon website includes:
POTENTIAL CASH FLOW: Artist will compete for prize money. $2,000 will go to the first place winner; $1,000 to the second place winner; and $500 to the third place winner. There is no entry fee, and the competition is open to those living in the US....Some Fine Print. All image copyright are surrendered. The artist must bring own ladder and paints, through selected competitors will receive $750 for materials.
It's the third year for the Reno-based mural marathon, which is held in conjunction with Artown.
