FIELD NOTES: First Friday is tonight, and on Preview Thursday at Blackbird Studios artist Nancy Brown opened "Consumption," an installation that is the artist's response to "the fragile relationship between science and agribusiness." Says Brown via Blackbird Studio: "Our over-consumption fuels the devastating effects this has on our health, the environment, and the lives of animals. It is the intent of this show to shed light on this overlooked yet important subject and to challenge the viewer to question their actions and the actions of others." MORE: Also ready for First Friday at Blackbird Studio is Lisa Dittrich with "Enchanted White Girl Art Show." Blackbird Studio is on the edge of the 18b footprint at 1551 S. Commerce Street.
